We are thrilled and honored to announce the latest addition to our Hopewell Health team, Dr. Jim Rodrigue, PhD, FAST, who joins us as a Clinical Advisor. With an illustrious career spanning 35 years, Dr. Rodrigue is a renowned clinical and health psychologist specializing in transplantation and organ donation.

Dr. Rodrigue’s journey in the field is marked by remarkable achievements, including establishing and leading behavioral health service programs at major transplant centers in Florida and Massachusetts. His dedication to providing clinical support to patients, living donors, and their families is unparalleled. Recognized for his groundbreaking clinical contributions, Dr. Rodrigue was honored with the Clinician of Distinction Award by the American Society of Transplantation (AST).

A prolific researcher, Dr. Rodrigue has been at the forefront of addressing racial and income disparities in transplantation and living donation. His work in assessing living donor outcomes and devising strategies to increase the availability of transplantable deceased donor organs has had a significant impact. His creation of Transplant House Calls stands out as a pioneering program proven to increase the likelihood of living donor kidney transplantation for those on the waiting list.

Dr. Rodrigue’s expertise is further reflected in his impressive publication record, with around 250 articles to his name, and his role as a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on over 30 research grants. His insights have been shared globally, with more than 100 invited talks on transplantation and living donation.

His leadership has extended to various national roles, including serving on the AST Board of Directors and participating in committees across the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS). He has contributed significantly to national and international consensus conferences on key transplantation issues.

Currently, Dr. Rodrigue holds prestigious positions as Director of Data Research and Insights at New England Donor Services, Vice Chair of Clinical Research in the Department of Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Professor at Harvard Medical School.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Rodrigue is a passionate Boston sports fan, an enthusiastic hiker and golfer, and a dedicated supporter of his daughters’ nonprofit organization, Kids Backing Kids, Inc.
